A crisis is any event or period that will lead, or may lead, to an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an individual, group, or all of society.
Crises are negative changes in the human or environmental affairs, especially when they occur abruptly, with little or no warning. Examples of a crisis include, but are not limited to:
Life-threatening situations, such as natural disasters - hurricane, or earthquake
Sexual assault or other criminal victimization.
Medical or Mental illness
Thoughts of suicide or homicide
Grief following a significant loss (death, loss of health, job termination, house foreclosure, loss of social status)
Drastic changes in relationships (separation, divorce, death of a loved, for example)
